Update: Issaquah Schools Closed Jan. 17

The district says a test drive of area roads led it to cancel all classes Tuesday; high school finals pushed back one day.

After test driving the roads beginning at 3 a.m., we have decided to turn yesterday's announcement of a two-hour delay into a cancellation of all schools for today, Tuesday, Jan. 17, due to winter weather and icy conditions (can you hear the collective hooray! from students?). As a reminder, this means all meetings, programs, field trips, after-school activities, Headstart, school-age care, and preschool are cancelled. A few other important notes:

  • The district has snow days already built into the school-year calendar. Today's cancellation will be made up on Friday, May 25.
  • High-school students who have finals this week: The schedule has been pushed back by one day. Liberty's finals are now Wednesday (Jan. 18) through Monday (Jan. 23). Issaquah High's and Skyline's review day will be Wednesday (Jan. 18) with finals on Thursday (Jan. 19) through Monday (Jan. 23).
  • Please check local media, the District homepage, District eNews, and Facebook this evening and tomorrow morning for updates about tomorrow's schedule (" heaviest snowfall in decades"?).
