LWSD Extends Some Choice School Deadlines

Due to last week’s snow, mandatory parent meetings for some were rescheduled. The new schedule made it difficult if not impossible to meet the original deadlines for applications. As a result, some schools will have a later application due date to accommodate their later meetings. Stella Schola applications will be due on Jan. 31 and applications for Discovery Elementary, Northstar Middle and the STEM school will be due Feb. 3.

Those Choice Schools whose meetings took place before the snowstorm will continue to follow the original schedule and hold their lotteries on Feb. 3. Stella Schola will also be included in that lottery. A second lottery will be held on Feb. 10 for Discovery Elementary, Northstar Middle and the STEM school.

All schools will send notification letters on Feb. 15. Acceptance is due for all schools by Feb. 27.

• STEM School mandatory information night: Friday, Jan. 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Redmond Junior High
