No Injuries or Damage in Minor Skyline Bus Incident

After school Tuesday, Jan. 24, two buses leaving Skyline High School "touched" each other, but the district says there were no injuries and no damage to either bus.

Skyline High School in the Issaquah School District sent a note home to parents this afternoon about a minor traffic incident involving two buses. The district said it wanted to let parents know that the incident was very minor and no injuries were reported. Neither of the buses involved was damaged.

Following is the statement from Skyline:

We wanted to report a small bus incident that occured today. No reason to be alarmed, but we are familiar with how some teenagers retell stories (the fish I caught was "this" big). So, before the bus incident gets reported at the dinner table with more flare and drama than necessary, we wanted to inform families so there aren't any major concerns.

Here is the report recevied by transportation this afternoon:

At approximately 10:35am today, two buses exiting Skyline High school made minor contact with each other at the stop light when one was turning left and one was turning right. The tail swing of one bus slightly touched the left side mirror of the other resulting in no damage or injuries. Again, Standard Operating procedure requires both buses be looked at by management. The students of one bus was transferred to another bus so as not to delay their going home while the bus was inspected.  Inspection showed no damage to either bus.
