Three LWSD Students Win National Merit Scholarships

The recipients are among a total of 4,300 students who have received college-sponsored national merit scholarships across the country.

Three students from the Lake Washington School District are among 1,800 additional college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship recipients announced by the organization earlier this month.

Each of the students will receive an annual award between $500 and $2,000 from the college or university they plan to attend this fall. The 1,800 students join 2,500 other college-sponsored award recipients who were announced in May.

The following LWSD students were recognized on July 15:

-Rachel Ainslie, Eastlake High School—National Merit Gonzaga University Scholarship

-Vita Shubin, Redmond High School—National Merit University of Southern California Scholarship
