Eastlake Baseball Club’s 17U Team Advances to State Tournament in Walla Walla

Eastlake Baseball 17U head to the state tournament in Walla Walla, a 16-team double elimination tournament, July 27 - Aug. 1.

Eastlake claimed the American Legion Area 1 “AA” South District Championship held at Woodinville High School July 18-20 by marching through the tournament with three decisive victories. 

Eastlake beat West Seattle 11-1, Lakeside 9-4, and Lakeside again in the championship game 12-4, winning the Sammamish team a berth in the state tournament.

Mick Vorhof was recognized as the tournament MVP with stellar defensive plays in game one, solid pitching in game two, and big offensive production in all three games, including a homerun in game two. Max Escarda was awarded the tournament’s top pitcher honors with a dominant performance against West Seattle.

Escarda also homered in the semi-final game against Lakeside. The tournament win improved Eastlake’s overall record to 32-5.

The state tournament, held at Borleske Stadium in Walla Walla, is a 16-team double elimination tournament which runs from July 27th to August 1st.
