Update: Eastlake Little League Softball All-Stars Advance to Regional Semifinals

The Eastlake Little League All-Stars continue their undefeated hot-streak in 100F temperatures at the 2013 Northwest Regional Little League Softball Tournament in San Bernardino, CA.

The Eastlake Little League Softball (Majors) All-Stars pounded Lewiston, Idaho 11-1 on Monday, July 22 to go 3-0 in the group phase of the 2013 Northwest Regional Little League Softball Tournament in San Bernardino, California, earning a place in the tournament semifinals.

Eastlake scored five runs in the fifth on an error, an RBI single by Natalie Guinasso, a walk by Josie Charles, a wild pitch, and an RBI single by Sophia Robinson.

Natalie had a hot bat for Eastlake, going 2-2, driving in one and scoring two runs.

Josie racked up 11 strikeouts in the Eastlake win. Josie allowed one earned run, three hits and six walks over five innings.

The game's last lead went to the Sammamish-based Softball All-Stars of 11- and 12-year-olds, thanks to a first inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on an error and a passed ball.

It didn't take long for Eastlake to answer as it scored two runs of its own in the third. Eastlake scored on an RBI single by Morgan Olynyk and a groundout by Sophia.

Eastlake added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. A single by Regan Hines ignited the offense, bringing home Mackenzie Kurtz

The win against Idaho runs Eastlake's Regional record to 3-0 and overall undefeated tournament record from District and State Tournaments to 11-0.

Eastlake is now guaranteed a place in the semifinals to be played on Thursday, July 25.

Original Post at Monday, 12:41 p.m.:  Scoreboard operators were busy at Houghton Field on Sunday as Eastlake LL and Boulder Arrowhead Big Sky LL combined for 17 runs. Eastlake LL (WA) eventually won the offensive battle 9-8 in six innings.

The teams banged out 14 hits hits between them, as well as five for extra bases.

Eastlake LL starter Sophia Robinson struggled, allowing seven in five innings, but the bullpen gave up one run and the offense banged out seven to pick up the slack and secure the win for Eastlake LL .

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to seven lead changes in the game.

Eastlake LL took the lead in the sixth inning and held on for the victory. A groundout by Lauren Gordon scored Kylee Rux and gave Eastlake LL the lead for good.

Josie Charles went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for Eastlake LL . She singled in the first, second, and fourth innings.

Josie got the win for Eastlake LL . She allowed one run over one inning. Josie struck out one, walked one and gave up no hits.

The bottom of the second saw Eastlake LL take an early lead, 4-0. Eastlake LL got things going when Hannah Butterklee singled. Eastlake LL then tacked on more runs when Charles, Hines and Olynyk scored.

Eastlake LL got two-run rallies in the fourth inning and the sixth. In the fourth, Eastlake LL scored on a two-run triple by Georgia Robinson, scoringMorgan Olynyk and Josie.

Eastlake's record is now a combined 10-0 with games played in District, State and Western Region Torunaments.
