Four Sammamish Baseball Players Selected to Baseball Northwest All-State Team

The baseball players have been selected to play in the first annual Baseball Northwest Junior Northwest Championship Tournament.

Baseball Northwest will be hosting the first annual Junior Northwest Championship Tournament August 4-7 in Centralia and four Sammamish players will be on one of the Washington rosters.

Nathan Mano, Taylor Wright, Connor McCabe and Shaan Kothari will be part of the class of 2016 (high school class) Washington Northwest team. The four were offered an invitation to the team after solid performances at an open tryout in June held at .

Baseball Northwest puts on a number of instructional camps and tournaments with the goal of providing exposure for players hoping to play in college or the pros. Eight teams will compete in the Junior Northwest Championship Tournament, including five from Washington, two from Oregon and one made up of players from Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. The tournament is billed by Baseball Northwest as the "largest collection of the region’s top young northwest players ever assembled in one place."

Mano, McCabe, Wright and Kothari all play for the O'Brien Auto Group U-13 Select team that plays in the Sandy Koufax select league. That team finished the 2011 season with a 50-14 record.

Mano is a catcher/center fielder, McCabe plays catcher, outfield and pitches from the right side, Wright is a left-handed pitcher who also plays first base and outfield and Kothari is a shortstop/outfielder. All four attend and plan on attending .

The Junior Northwest Championship Tournament takes place at the Borst Park Sports Complex in Centralia from August 4-7.
