Issaquah Man is Upcoming Sounders 'Man of the Match'

Issaquah resident, Brian Gordon, will be the "Man of the Match" March 20 at the Sounders game. Gordon won the Man of the Match promotion by Washington's Lottery and the Seattle Sounders last seaon.

Congrats to Gordon, the Sounders fan who won the grand prize and will be playing the group of Sounders on March 20 with his family and boss.

For the second season in a row, Washington’s Lottery and the Seattle Sounders FC are rolling out the red carpet for Man of the Match promotion winners! Established last season, the Man of the Match promotion gave Sounders fans a chance to win the Ultimate Experience; a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lace up their cleats and play soccer with a group of Sounders players at the Starfire Sports Complex. 

Last year, the Man of the Match promotion marked the first time an MLS team partnered with a state Lottery to create an in-stadium promotion for its fans. This year, Washington’s Lottery and the Sounders FC have enhanced the promotion and increased the chances to win. In addition, winners will be able to redeem their prizes throughout the 2012 MLS season instead of waiting until the very end.

“We were thrilled with last year’s participation at Sounders FC matches, so this year we’ve upped the ante and made the Man of the Match promotion even better,” said Jim Warick, Washington’s Lottery Deputy Director. “At every match, fans can now play for the chance to win in-stadium experiences that money just can’t buy.” 

How can fans play?

• Attend a Sounders FC match.
• Locate a Man of the Match booth and select a player for Man of the Match. Fans 18 years of age and older can select one card from a series of player cards at each home match.
• At CenturyLink Field there are three Man of the Match promotion booths. On the concourse level, booths are located near sections 122 and 139, and another booth is located in the Northwest Plaza where fans can choose the Sounders player they think will be named Man of the Match. Once they select the player they think will be named Man of the Match, it’s time to enjoy the game and cheer on their player!
• At the end of the match, once a Sounders FC player is named Man of the Match by the in-stadium PA Announcer, fans that chose that player can redeem their player card after the match at one of the three booths near sections 122, 139, and in the Northwest Plaza for a FREE Washington’s Lottery Scratch ticket from the Seattle Sounders FC.

How can fans win?

Every Man of the Match promotion player, win or lose, must fill out their player card on the back to be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of three great in-stadium experiences. Fans must return their signed cards to the Man of the Match booths in order to be eligible for prizes. Prizes include:

1. Photographer Press Pass: The winner will be paired with a professional sports photographer on the field and receive credentials with a professional camera to take their own photos from the sidelines for the first half of the match. Additionally the winner will be given a parking pass, and two Club Level seats to watch the second half of the match from!

2. Sideline Sofa Seat: That’s right, a sideline sofa seat! A sofa will be strategically placed on the East Sideline where the winner can invite a friend to sit and cheer on their beloved Sounders, wearing a personalized Sounders jersey, while enjoying some beverages and bites on the house.

3. All Access Pass: The winner will receive a personalized Sounders FC jersey, all access pass to hang out on the sidelines before the match begins, and VIP Club Level seats to watch the match! But it doesn’t stop there – the winner will also have an opportunity for a special meet and greet on the field with one of the Sounders FC players immediately following the match!
