New Farmers Market Opens Near Sammamish at Redmond Ridge

The market is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in The Goddard School parking lot on Redmond Ridge Road.

Sammamish residents have an additional option for fresh produce with the recent opening of the new Redmond Ridge Farmers Market.

The market opened for business this spring in the parking lot of , located at 10611 NE Redmond Ridge Road. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday through Oct. 27.

Courtney Russell, a public relations specialist who was recently hired to help promote the new market, says an average of eight farms are on site each Saturday. Most sell fruits and vegetables, but meat and eggs are also available, Russell said.

The market was organized by Skagit Valley farmer Les Price and a group of fellow farmers who wanted to start a market that was strictly focused on food offerings. The nonprofit group Puget Sound Farm Link and various neighborhood businesses also provided support, Russell said.

“They all wanted to see a farmers market, not just a general market, in the Redmond community,” she said, adding that more vendors might be added in the future. "It’s small, but it’s only been up for a month or so.”

The market's regular lineup of vendors includes Jones Creek Farms, Martin Family Orchard, Willie Green’s, Big Spoon Jam, Local Roots Farm, Tonnemaker Family Orchard, Sky Valley Farm, Olsens Farms, and the Caribreoso food truck.

Russell said the market plans to add kids' activities, live music and additional food trucks later this summer.
