Adopt This Pet: Meet Isa the Chihuaha

Isa is a very cuddly rescue dog looking for a forever lap. Could it be yours?

Meet Isa, a darling 5-year-old Chihauhua, who was a very sad and scared homeless dog. Lucky for her, the shelter contacted Motley Zoo of Redmond and Isa is now a grateful rescue dog in a foster home. She is a little shy at first, but once she knows you she is super cuddly and loving. She would enjoy a house that is not too crazy but one that can give her lots of attention. Isa sleeps all night and can be in a crate, but if she had her choice, Isa would rather be snuggling under the covers with her human friend. She likes other cats and dogs, but does not enjoy them getting in her face, so she would be best in a house with a mellow dog or just as the only dog. In addition, Isa is completely housebroken and is a great "girly girl."

Her foster parents love her!

Here is what they say: This sweet girl is very feminine. Everything about her is "all girl.” She might be THE easiest foster dog that her foster has ever had! Isa was very stressed in the shelter. In less than 24 hours being in a home environment, she had a complete turnaround when her stress dropped to zero. She is cautious with some new people at first but warms up quickly when allowed a little space to adjust. Once she decides you're okay, she is extremely loving and wants to be cuddled, preferably from the comfort and warmth of your lap. She enjoys having her feet stroked. Her former owner had painted her nails bright purple (which we do not recommend, but just to illustrate how tolerant she is of having people touch her feet, which some dogs hate!)! Isa likes to be brushed and having her eyes wiped with a warm wet baby washcloth. As long as she's being touched, she's a happy girl.

Isa plays great with toys by herself or with a trusted tug buddy. She's respectful on a leash. She understands (especially in bad weather) that when she's outside, she needs to go to the bathroom and gets right to it and comes back inside. She's a smart, eager to please girl who knows some commands - her "sit" is immediate for treats. She sleeps great all night, either in a crate or in your bed under the covers if allowed. :)

Isa needs continued socialization to new people and environments to keep building her confidence with new situations. Her foster is working diligently with her and her forever family should keep exposing her so she isn't fearful. She is a sweet, loving dog who can't wait to find her forever family. She is so easy and adorable, inquire soon!!

Isa is spayed, has all the necessary vaccines and just had her pearly whites cleaned.

She is dewormed and fleatreated as well as microchipped. Her adoption donation goes toward the medical costs and transportation, as well as to help Motley Zoo continue their work with homeless animals.

Does Isa sound like the dog for you? Please go to the Motley Zoo website at www.motleyzoo.org or you can email them at adopt@motleyzoo.org to fill out an adoption application. Motley Zoo does not have a shelter, but instead houses all their homeless dogs/cats in foster homes.

We too, love having our Farmers' Market return! Opening day was a bit weather-challenged. ThankRead More you merchants for enduring the wet and cold for our new extended hours! What a wonderful sight will return to the plaza when the sunshine calls back all the families with happy, giggling children. Market day is a date of dinner out (side) & shopping (vegetables, fruits and now HedgeHog Toffee) with my husband. Doesn't get much better than that! SEE YOUR THERE! Susan Gerend
