Do you love learning about new cultures and providing once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to young people?

If your family enjoys meeting new people, exploring new cultures, and helping young people achieve their dreams, then you would make a great host family. Hosting an international student is an amazing opportunity to share your home with an open-minded exchange student who is eager to learn about American culture and family life.

Issaquah, Sammamish, Skyline, Eastlake High Schools (and other local high schools) have international students scheduled to arrive this fall and is looking for host families to open their homes to an exchange student. Ayusa International students come from over 60 countries and are eager to contribute to the host families and communities they join.

Not only do local schools benefit from the diversity that international students bring, so will your family! You can:

-Share a new language and culture with your family
-Teach a student about American values and traditions
-Increase cultural awareness in your community
-Change the course of a student’s life

Host families invite students into their family for one academic year, providing them with meals and a shared or private bedroom. Your student pays for all other personal expenses while in the U.S. If your family is interested in volunteering to host a student while having a truly rewarding experience for the whole family, please visit www.ayusa.org

Ayusa International is a non-profit organization founded in 1981 to promote global learning, leadership, and public diplomacy through foreign exchange programs. You can find us listed in the Better Business Bureau with an A+ Rating.

We too, love having our Farmers' Market return! Opening day was a bit weather-challenged. ThankRead More you merchants for enduring the wet and cold for our new extended hours! What a wonderful sight will return to the plaza when the sunshine calls back all the families with happy, giggling children. Market day is a date of dinner out (side) & shopping (vegetables, fruits and now HedgeHog Toffee) with my husband. Doesn't get much better than that! SEE YOUR THERE! Susan Gerend
