During the 2008-09 academic year, Inglewood Junior High School had about 1,100 pupils, the largest number of students for any junior high school in the Lake Washington School District. School administrators have made a concerted effort to ensure that the campus has a small and welcoming feel for all students. The school, which opened in 1991 and serves students in 7th, 8th and 9th grades, has received national recognition for its programs, according to administrators.

In October 2009, the school had an enrollment of 1,034 students - of which 55 percent were boys and 45 percent were girls. The school has a teaching staff of 54, and 63 percent of them have earned their master's degree. Each instructor, on average, has more than a decade of experience.

The school library reaches out to students by operating a Facebook page. The mascot is the Knight. The school feeds into Eastlake High School.

Inglewood draws its students from Sammamish's northern neighborhoods. The attendance zone covers the area north of Southeast 8th Street and close to state Route 202.
