Issaquah Police Seek Help in Identifying Robbery Suspect

The man and an accomplice forced their way into an Issaquah woman's home, where he assaulted her as the two ransacked the home, possibly in search of narcotic medications.

Issaquah Police are asking for the public's help to identify a man suspected of "stomping" on an Issaquah woman's face in the course of a robbery Wednesday. The man who attacked the woman is described by police as a white man, about 30 years old, 5'10" and weighing about 200 pounds. He has unfinished 'full-sleeve' tattoos on each arm. On one arm, unknown which, the suspect had an unfinished front facing skull on the top of the forearm and a tattoo of a woman, similar to what you might see on 18-wheel truck mud flaps on the inside of the same forearm. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, worn low, and white Converse Shoes.  On Wednesday, May 16, at about noon, two men forced their way into an Issaquah woman's…

Eastside Fire Responds to Klahanie Condo Fire

The blaze was reported about 2:30 this morning; all residents were evacuated safely and King County is investigating the cause of the blaze.

Eastside Fire and Rescue responded to a fire at the Tanglewood condo complex in Klahanie early this morning, after someone called and reported seeing flames and smoke from a nearby roof. Building B of the complex, which is located at 25025 SE Klahanie Blvd, in unincorporated Issaquah, was evacuated after the fire was reported about 2:30 in the morning on Friday, May 18. One person was treated for possible smoke inhalation at the scene. Fire crews were able to extinguish a small in the unit with extinguishers and put the fire out in the attic of the building, getting it under control by 3 a.m. King County investigators are investigating the cause of the fire. Units 73, 83, 71, 75, and air unit 81 responded to the blaze.

Update: Pedestrian Killed in Redmond Way Crash Identified

Redmond Way was closed for approximately five hours overnight as police investigated the crash.

Update: The pedestrian who was killed in Thursday's collision has been identified by the King County Medical Examiner as 83-year-old Eleuther Veevaert. Original story: A pedestrian was killed Thursday evening in southeast Redmond after being struck by a vehicle on Redmond Way at about 10 p.m. The victim, who died instantly, was a male whose name and age have not been released by police. He was struck by a passenger car driven by an unidentified 26-year-old. Investigators do not believe the driver committed any traffic infractions or was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to a news release from the Redmond Police Department. Reward Posted in Hit & Run Interstate 90 Overpass Collision

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest after an I-90 overpass was damaged to the tune of $1.5 million.

Repair costs after a hit-and-run collision of an Eastbound Interstate 90 overpass at milepost 45, east of North Bend, is estimated at $1.5 million. A reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest is being offered by Crime Stoppers. At the beginning of April, Washington State Patrol detectives were contacted by an off duty employee and advised of damage to the eastbound Interstate 90 underpass at mile post 45.   The overpass girder had been struck by an over height load traveling in the northbound lane underneath Interstate 90. Several areas of broken concrete and exposed steel rebar were visible on the overpass. Text Messages Being Used to Steal Personal Info, Police Warn

The scam sends out a text message saying the recipient has won a $1,000 Best Buy gift card.

Some cell phone users have been hit by a text-based phone scam that tries to collect recipients' personal information by telling them they have won a $1,000 gift card to Best Buy, warned Redmond Police. The message includes a link to a website where recipients are asked to provide personal information, such as their names, email addresses and dates of birth. The practice is sometimes called "smishing"—a combination of SMS and phishing—according to the FBI. Redmond Police spokesman and community outreach facilitator Jim Bove offered the following advice to people who receive questionable text messages: Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it likely is. Sunday, April 29 Assault with a handgun: A 46-year old Sammamish man was booked after threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend and pointing a handgun at his 8-year-old daughter. When deputies responded to a domestic violence call by the former girlfriend, who lives with the man at the home on the 1100 block of 231st Place NE, a deputy could hear the racking sound of a gun upstairs and a girl saying “daddy.” The man apparently had been drinking for some time, and during the course of an argument had damaged the home and threatened both the woman and the child. Serious Crash on Redmond Way Causes Traffic Delays

Some westbound lanes of traffic remain blocked on Redmond Way near 152nd Avenue Northeast as police investigate a collision that seriously injured the driver of a Ford Focus.

  Drivers can expect delays in the area west of downtown Redmond Wednesday morning as the Redmond Police Department continues its investigation of an early morning collision that sent a 53-year-old Redmond man to the hospital with serious injuries. The crash happened at about 7:20 a.m. in the 15300 block of Redmond Way when a semi-truck attempting to make a wide right turn struck a Ford Focus as both vehicles were traveling westbound. Police spokesman Jim Bove said the driver of the Focus was speeding and attempted to get by in the right lane after the truck had already began turning. “You can see the skid marks in the picture,” Bove said. Father of Accused Sammamish Teen Says He Has Community Support

Will Lewis’ 16-year-old son is in juvenile detention and has been charged with groping a girl and attacking a woman last week. Lewis is a former player and executive with the Seattle Seahawks.

Former Seahawk player Will Lewis said he has broad community support following allegations that his son groped a 10-year-old girl and a woman in Sammamish last week, KIRO TV reports. The teen, accused of sexually assaulting two women, denied the charges against him Thursday as he faced a judge. After 13 years with Seattle, Lewis, the boy's father, left his position as director of pro personnel with the Seahawks in February of this year.Previously, he also was a player with the team. Sammamish Teen Charged in Connection with Assault on Girl, Woman

The the teen remains in juvenile detention pending a hearing to determine whether he is tried as a juvenile or an adult.

A 16-year-old boy was charged Monday, May 14, in King County Superior Court with indecent liberties, communicating with a minor for immoral purposes and burglary in connection with the alleged attacks on a woman and girl last week, . The boy will have a hearing in about two weeks to determine whether he will be prosecuted in adult or juvenile court. For now, he is in juvenile detention, the prosecutors office said, based on his threat to community safety.  The teen is alleged to have grabbed a 10-year-old girl who was on her way home from school on May 7, as well as a 26-year-old woman in a separate incident.
