Issaquah Middle School is home to more than 700 students in the sixth through the eighth grade. As part of theMore Issaquah School District, Issaquah Middle School serves along the I-90 corridor.</p> <p>Once known as Issaquah Junior High School, Issaquah Middle School (IMS) first opened in its current location in 1955. Following more than two years of live-in, learn-in renovation, completed in 1999, the school’s modernization is an ideal learning backdrop for students in grades 6-8.</p> <p>The IMS neighborhood includes Issaquah’s Community Center. School and neighborhood activities naturally ebb and flow between these two community resources.<br>The very active and supportive PTSA has provided numerous hours of volunteer assistance and more than $15,000 in teacher grants, scholarships and programs. Approximately 120 parent volunteers provide an adult presence on campus in the school’s <a href="http://issaquahmiddleptsa.org/Page/Program/walkabout_home">Walk-About</a> program before school and during lunches.</p> <p>About 75 percent of the school's teachers have masters degrees. The indoor Julius Boehm pool, located just near the Issaquah Community Center and Issaquah Middle School, is home toMore the competitive Issaquah Sockeyes Swim team, and operated by the Issaquah Parks Department. The pool has six lap lanes and a roped off area kept open for families with children. In addition to swim classes and lifeguard training, the pool is available for birthday party packages including one hour in the pool with a lifeguardrunning age-appropriate games, and one hour at the table or in the party room for refreshments and presents.</p> <p>Passes for the day, month, quarter, or annually are available. </p>
