The East Lake Sammamish Trail is owned and operated by King County government. It stretches for 11…More miles from Redmond in the north, through Sammamish and down to Issaquah in the south.</p> <p>A former railroad route, it is popular with walkers, hikers, joggers and bicyclists. Motorized vehicles and horses are not permitted on the gravel trail. Of the 11 miles, a majority of it gently winds its way through Sammamish on the eastern side of the lake.</p> <p>Users are asked to remain on the trail and avoid private property. There are lakefront homes next to the trail. Pet owners are asked to clean up after their animals.</p> <p>There are gravel areas that offer access to the trail. As of December 2010, the city of Sammamish reports they are: 187th Ave. Northeast, Northeast 7th Court, Southeast 8th St., Southeast 33rd St., 212th Way Southeast.</p> <p>Motorists can park vehicles on city of Sammamish streets. For 2011, youth sports cost $45 per hour and adult sports cost $70 per hour. Use of the lights cost $20 per hour. There are times when the fields are open and empty.
