Elaine Sawyer, Neighbor

I currently work at the Gray Barn Nursery and write a blog about plants and gardening called rainyleaf.  My early life was filled with milkweed, tomatoes and Queen Anne's Lace. Later I progressed to serviceberry, scrub oak and sagebrush.  I then spent 17 years among California lilacs, fuchsias and Monterey Cypress, followed by a bountiful period of beets, pumpkins and sunflowers.  This decade I am discovering Japanese Maples, Roses, and Salal.

My husband Bill and I have been married for 21 years and have four wonderful children.  I studied zoology and marine biology at college (BYU) and love reading, writing, outdoor recreation and gardening.
