Sean Walsh
Sean Walsh has been a staff writer, reporter, photographer, columnist, editor and editor-in-chief for The Beacon, The Ithaca Times, The Southboro Villager, Falmouth Enterprise, The Register, Sandwich Broadsider, Cape Cod News, The Boston Globe, On The Water Magazine, the Old Colony Memorial, Marshfield Reporter, Duxbury Reporter, Pembroke Reporter, Wareham Courier and The Cape Cod Sports Report.
In his 30-year career in journalism, Walsh has garnered regional and national awards in journalism and photojournalism from the American Cancer Society, The Suburban Newspaper Association of America, the New England Press Association and New England Outdoor Writers Association, to name a few. He's also received numerous awards for community volunteerism, was the first official photographer of the Cape Cod Baseball League, is the former Director of Public Relations for the Cape Cod Baseball League and has served elected roles on numerous local boards and non-profit organizations and he was the founding president of the Barnstable High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was also the general manager of the 2003 Western Division Champion Bourne Braves in the Cape Cod Baseball League and served for five years as the Director of Facilities for the Cotuit Athletic Association/Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He has spent the last 25 years as both a volunteer and professional coach in baseball, football, basketball, soccer and track & field and most recently served as general manager and head coach of Barnstable American Legion baseball. He is currently writing three books and lives in Marstons Mills with his wife and three children. He has published articles and photographs in over 50 magazines, journals and newspapers across the United States in addition to his work in community and local news.
