Resident Stabs and Kills Home Intruder Near North Bend

A home intruder was pronounced dead at a North Bend home early Monday morning after he attempted to break in.

A home invasion suspect was stabbed and killed by a resident early this morning after he broke into a home near North Bend.

King County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call at the home in the 10100 block of 420th Ave SE around 1:40 a.m. this morning. When police arrived they learned that a man and his wife were asleep when their dogs started barking and woke them up. The husband got up to let the dogs out and was confronted by an intruder inside of the house.

The husband and the intruder started fighting and the wife jumped in to help her husband. One of the residents grabbed a knife and stabbed the suspect during the struggle. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies said when they searched the house they discovered a number of screens had been removed from the windows. It is unclear at this point how the intruder got into the house.

Additionally, deputies responded to the same house approximately 12 hours earlier, (1:10pm on Sunday) when the wife, who was home with her infant daughter and mother, called 911 after an intruder came into the house through an unlocked rear door and assaulted and robbed her.

During that incident the suspect fled and police conducted a K-9 search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Detectives are investigating whether the dead intruder is the same man that entered the house and robbed the wife on Sunday. Detectives said the residents do not know the intruder.

Another home intruder was shot and wounded about a week ago after he burglarized an Issaquah home in the Montreux neighborhood.
